Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) is preparing for the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi festival and the anticipated influx of devotees heading to the renowned Khairatabad Ganesh idol. In order to provide a seamless commute for the multitude of passengers, NVS Reddy, the Managing Director of HMRL, has unveiled a series of measures to enhance metro services and security during the idol immersion day.
To facilitate easy access for devotees, HMRL intends to extend its services until 1 am on the day of immersion, a practice consistent with previous years. This extension will enable pilgrims to conveniently reach the Khairatabad station even during late hours.
The Khairatabad Ganesh idol, a beloved symbol of the city, draws numerous devotees from the very start of the festival. To accommodate the surge in passenger traffic, HMRL is implementing several additional measures. Extra ticket counters will be established at the Khairatabad station and other key metro stations in the vicinity, ensuring that pilgrims can swiftly purchase tickets and board trains without undue delays.
Furthermore, ensuring the safety of passengers is of utmost importance. HMRL plans to deploy additional security personnel at the Khairatabad station and other strategically significant metro stations.
